See, Think, Innovate
Being an Entrepreneur requires you to have many skill sets. None more important than the manner in which you are able to effectively make decisions. Thinking is a major part of an entrepreneurs live and when it comes to being innovative a thinking routine is always required. Part of our approach is to expose the learners to thinking strategies and the strategy we have aligned ourselves to and adapted is one developed by the Harvard Graduate School of Education, namely SEE THINK WONDER. Our adaptation of this is SEE THINK INNOVATE to align to our entrepreneurial focus.
What kind of thinking does this routine encourage?
This thinking routine encourages learners to make careful observations and thoughtful interpretations within and outside of the classroom environment. It helps stimulate curiosity and sets the stage for inquiry.
How and when can it be applied?
We use this thinking routine when we expect learners to think carefully about why something looks the way it does or is the way it is and what they could do differently. It also connects to a topic during any unit of study and to further apply their new knowledge and ideas in their lives outside of the school environment.
Where can it be used?
We encourage learners to back up their interpretation with detailed explanations for their thinking. The thinking routine works best when a learner responds by using the three stems together at the same time, i.e., "I see..., I think..., I innovate...." The thinking routine works well in a group discussion but learners have freedom to try the routine individually on paper or in their heads before sharing out as a class.
